The Science of Getting Rich
I just added a new free book download to the Recommended Reading page. It is The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles.
Wallace D. Wattles was one of the writers in the New Thought movement of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. To find out more about him visit Wallace Wattles Biography and Books. The Science of Getting Rich was originally published in 1910. Directed at how to get rich (materially), the book gives the basics of how many view the functional process of 'better living through thought', or the current popular phrase, intention manifestation.
The essence of the book is contained in the following quote from the book:
- There is a thinking stuff from which all things are made, and which, in its original state, permeates, penetrates, and fills the interspaces of the universe.
- A thought in this substance produces the thing that is imaged by the thought.
- Man can form things in his thought, and, by impressing his thought upon formless substance, can cause the thing he thinks about to be created.
- In order to do this, man must pass from the competitive to the creative mind; he must form a clear mental picture of the things he wants, and do, with faith and purpose, all that can be done each day, doing each separate thing in an efficient manner.
As you can see, Mr. Wattles doesn't portray personal reality change through belief change as a way to avoid work, but as a way to make your work more effective. Download the book. Read it. Think about it. You'll find it well worth your time.
