Podcast 42 - The Rebirth of Magic
Aleister Crowley. MacGregor Mathers. Wallace Wattles. W. B. Yeats. Jesus. Jane Roberts. James Allan. Esther Hicks. Richard Bandler and John Grinder. Carl Jung. Albert Ellis.
What do all these individuals have in common? Magic. Or rather, a belief in magic. They may not agree with this assessment, and I rather doubt that they would, but all have expressed the view, in one way or another, that our thoughts, our beliefs, are the source of, or influence strongly, our experience.
Magic is the use of intent, shaped by imagination, to create change.
While magical thinking is often characterized as a stage of childhood development, a symptom of psychological disorders such as schizophrenia, or a confusion of correlation with causality, it is also an inseparable part of the human stance in the face of the world. In this podcast I talk about magic and some of its guises in the current time.
This episode of the Shards of Consciousness podcast is based on a post I wrote in March, 2007 called Magic.
