Cherish
The dictionary meaning of cherish is to hold dear, or to treat with affection and tenderness.
We all have had experiences that have a major effect on our lives and the way we look at the life. Some of mine have come from dreams. One in particular happened when I was 20 or 21. I woke up with the lyrics to the first verse of Cherish by The Association being sung to me.

When life gets to me, I remember how I felt at that point of waking up, I meditate on the word cherish and its meaning, and know things are, and will be, okay.
I read the first two lines of your post and in my head popped (very) fond thoughts of a girl I haven't thought about for years. You never know when an anchor or trigger will work its magic. It's kinda fun, when you pay attention...
