Five Questions

September 14th, 2007 by Richard Cockrum

In journalism, there are five questions they tell you any story should answer. Who? What? When? Where? Why?

Day by day we write the stories of our lives. Every once in a while it’s a good idea to take the time to ask the questions of ourselves.

Who? Who am I?

What? What is important to me? What am I doing with my time?

When? When do I live my life my own?

Where? Where am I going? Where do I want to end up?

Why? Why am I here? Why is what I am doing important?

All important questions, however, it’s the answers that are all important.

I believe that by just being a part of “Priscilla Palmer’s Personal Development list” suggests that each of us post this list. You like me (Killeris at “Attitude, the Ultimate Power”) are on this list. If you have already posted it, THANK YOU. If you have not posted it, I am officially putting out a challenge that you add additional sites that fit the theme and post the entire list. This is my opinion only. If you disagree I respectfully understand. If you do agree with me this list can be found at: http://mondaymorningpower.blogspot.com/2007/09/personal-development-list-challenge.html

A very brief but thoughtful post! These are questions we would all do well to ask ourselves from time to time–about our writing and also about life in general.

    Hello Jeanne,

    Thanks for dropping in!

I was never a very good fiction writer (though some readers of the posts here may disagree :) ), but using stories as metaphors for our lives, and vice versa, has come to have meaning for me over the years.

    Rick,

I can very well see how it might! Thanks for the friendly welcome!

    Jeanne
