Entering Technorati Tags With ScribeFire

August 6th, 2007 by Richard Cockrum

I know I’m slow, slower about some things than other.

I’ve been using ScribeFire for quite a while to write posts for this blog. I just discovered today that you could use it to add Technorati tags to a post without need for any kind of plugin or manual entry of the html in your post. This is the process if you’re using the latest version of ScribeFire (1.4.2)

  1. Click on the Publishing Options button to the right of the post title box. A tab will open to the right of your editor.
  2. Type in a comma separated list of the tags you want in the edit box at the top of the tab.
  3. Click on the Add Tags to post button.
  4. Click on the Close Options button to the right of the post title box to close the tab.

That’s all there is to it. ScribeFire will enter the code to insert the tags into your post automatically. If you decide to change the tags, you do have to manually delete the html entered, then click the Add Tags to post button again, but that’s a lot easier than entering the code manually.

In the same tab you can enter the post as a draft to your blog, book mark post at del.icio.us with the tags you entered, enable pings to the post, and add trackback urls for any links you added to the post. Is that cool, or what?

Like I said, sometimes I’m slow. Someday I’ll catch up. I do like finding things that make life easier.
