Blast From the Past

August 29th, 2007 by Richard Cockrum

Liz Strauss says “You’re it!” This successful and original writer and teacher would like to see five of the articles I have written in the past, asking if I’ve changed what I say since I’ve been blogging. I can answer that, Liz. Basically, no. I do hope that I say it better. :)

What to chose? What to chose?

I started in April 2006, and picked one post from every other month. The latest one is from December, 2007.

Shadows On The Wall. The contents of our minds shapes our experience more than the outer world ever can. This story is an illustration.

Concentrative Meditation (Part One). The number one tool of any personal growth or development. If you never read anything else on this blog, read this. Actually, you should read everything, but I’ll settle for this. :)

Requiem. I can be a bit overcontrolling. To show it, I wrote my own elegy. I hope this gets read at my funeral. I have no illusions about my skills as a poet, but the art gives me pleasure and keeps me out of trouble.

Use Appropriate Technology. The purpose of technology is to serve us, not us to serve technology. We’ve all got better things to do than maintain our tools and toys.

How Do You Know? One of my halting adventures into epistemology. A big word, but don’t let that scare you off. The subject itself is important, even on a practical level.

Now it’s my turn to ask the question. Christine, Terry, Karen, Phil, Trevor - what five posts from your past illustrate your work, say your piece, show your change, or just randomly appeal to you?
