Hi Rhen, and well come!

I'm the last to deny that we need green energy to function in our world. Even in that cave with food being delivered, it's coming from somewhere. I just think who I am is more important than what I have.

The law of attraction to me is about how I feel.

But we can't deny that in this world we need some green energy to function in society, and that unless we want to live in a cave somewhere on a mountain and have food delivered to us every day, we must be able to make a certain amount of money to thrive and experience life fully.

That being said, I try to measure my success based on how I feel from moment to moment. And if I had a lot of fun today, then I feel that was a success. I must admit it's easier said than done sometimes, but doable nonetheless.

My favorite line from "The Santa Clause" is 'believing is seeing'.

I don't think giving and getting are mutually exclusive. It's not a completely true dichotomy.

This post was inspired by what appears to me to be the simplistic view of what is being called the law of attraction that is often espoused on the web today, and the apparent focus of many of its advocates on the same thing as late night radio ads - money and health. As you know, there's a lot more to it than that. And it appears that many people advocate it's use in a way that can easily be destructive.

I sometimes wonder how much attention it would get if we called it what it used to be called - magic.

What you "see" is what you get - but I liked the eloquent way you put this message in your post, Rick.

Hopefully "getting" and "giving" don't have to be mutually exclusive. The whole point of life is to remember the interplay, in my opinion.

Oops! My bad! Please accept my apologies.

That goes to show how incompetent I am in retaining past information.

<blockquote>The Buddha told him he could just pay the ferryman a couple of pennies.</blockquote>

This thing happens when we over complicate stuff. ;)

Lady Glynis, Renee.

She's the master of material manifestation here. She dreams the dreams. I find a way to make them work. I won't even put a car in my name. It is guaranteed to kill the car.

A lot of the stuff on the net reminds me of the story about the Buddha. A monk told him after years of meditation he learned to levitate across a river. The Buddha told him he could just pay the ferryman a couple of pennies.

<blockquote>As long as I have what I my family needs, I’m happy that way.</blockquote>

Rick, you spoke like a real man. I'm sure Gladys will agree with me.

Good evening, Renee!

I'll never be financially wealthy on purpose. As long as I have what I my family needs, I'm happy that way.

Of your four, learning to forgive is the hardest. It's just in the past few years I'm getting the hang of it.

Most people I know of, measure personal growth or achievement by looking at their material things. Usually this group of people are folks who just acquire their wealth in short amount of time or had never experienced owning such possessions.

For me, personal growth is about...

#1 How much I learn and willingly to share (contribution).
#2 How much I'm willing to let go certain things in life and live simply.
#3 How much I'm willing to forgive others and myself
#4 How fast can I appreciate those people around.

These are just some off my head. Another thing I've learnt during the journey of acquiring wealth, there are many subliminal lessons to be learned. There will always be struggles, as long I'm willing to take that extra tiny step, I think I've grown.
