SOBCon 2007

Do you want to take your blog to the next level? Do you want your blog to be outstanding? You can. You've seen the button in the right hand sidebar here for SOBCon 2007. Maybe you attended the virtual SOBCon earlier this month. If you did, you got a taste of what's coming in Chicago on the weekend of May 11 - 12. I have a date with a movie theatre, so I can't go, but you can.

At SOBCon you'll be able to meet some of the people you read regularly, people like

Surrounded by people like this, even osmosis will help you learn to

  • Build your brand

  • Improve your writing

  • Use the tools and techniques of blogging to get your blog to the audience it deserves

  • Improve your blog's ease of use

  • Learn how to build relationships and hold conversations through the blogging medium

  • Use the techniques of podcasting and videoblogging

Whether your blog is a hobby or a business, personal or professional, it can be great. .

These things do cost money. The fee for SOBCon is $350. Register now, though, and you can take $100 off that by convincing Liz. But April 1 the fee goes up to $450. Like so many other things, delay in action makes it more expensive.

If it wasn't for my permanent date with a theatre, I would be going. In early May Chicago can be a beautiful city. The Sears Tower is something to see. Lake Michigan seems to go on forever. I've talked to several of the speakers and attendees. They're some of the best people I've ever encountered, and have taught me many things about how to use blogging to say what I want to say, and how to build relationships with other people. Add the chance to hear Christine Kane perform live (she's opening the conference on Friday night and is one of the best writers I know)...

Who knows, you may even get a chance to find out what happened to Basil, the code writing donkey, and rescue him!

You will be with in every way that you've changed how we look at the world, every time that you've made us laugh or think. :)

Thank you Rick - we'll miss you, but we'll be thinking about you, especially at Open Comment Nite; maybe you can phone one in! All the best.

I'm glad you kicked all this off, Terry. You set a good thing in motion.

Thanks for promoting this wonderful event Rick. You'll be there in spirit, cheering us on.

And I'm with Terry: Give me a call on my cell, and I'll hold you up to the microphone for open mic night :)

I'm happy to help, Phil. If I won't be there, someone can be. :-)

I'm getting this image from the movie Real Genius where the classroom has all the students, and finally the teacher, being replaced by tape machines. :-)
