Cherish
December 13th, 2006 by Richard CockrumThe dictionary meaning of cherish is to hold dear, or to treat with affection and tenderness.
We all have had experiences that have a major effect on our lives and the way we look at the life. Some of mine have come from dreams. One in particular happened when I was 20 or 21. I woke up with the lyrics to the first verse of Cherish by The Association being sung to me.
Cherish is the word I use to describe
All the feeling that I have hiding here for you inside
You don’t know how many times I’ve wished that I had told you
You don’t know how many times I’ve wished that I could hold you
You don’t know how many times I’ve wished that I could
Mold you into someone who could
Cherish me as much as I cherish you…
And I do cherish you
And I do cherish you
Cherish is the word
When life gets to me, I remember how I felt at that point of waking up, I meditate on the word cherish and its meaning, and know things are, and will be, okay.

I read the first two lines of your post and in my head popped (very) fond thoughts of a girl I haven’t thought about for years. You never know when an anchor or trigger will work its magic. It’s kinda fun, when you pay attention…

I’m glad it woke up some good memories, Steve.
