More Letter Elimination Rules

It’s been a long haul, but there are only a few lessons left. This lesson contains the remainder of the notescript letter abbreviations that I find useful.

Rule 11

Leave out one letter of a double consonant.

Rule 12

Leave out the c before a k or a q.

Rule 13

Leave out the silent gh before a t (ght).

  1. Escape quickly the ill-mannered sons of Edom.
  2. The night was rough with the sound of songs caught within the breeze.
  3. The quick steps of a frightened chicken pattered across the floor of the barn.
  4. We bought three dozen roses to celebrate our spouses’ acquittals.
  5. How much did you weigh last week?
  6. The massive lorry was lacquered in bright purple.
  7. Why don’t you row the boat while I paddle the canoe?
  8. Who wants to get whacky with nifty neighing noises?
  9. It was a rough path, but we trod it with light hearts.
  10. The thief was caught by the sheriff before he escaped into the night.
