Karma is Belief Manifestation
October 13th, 2006 by Richard CockrumPeople who believe in karma often view it in terms of fate - events that happen to you that cannot be changed. While your actions may have been the instigator of the fated events, “as you sow, so shall you reap”, once set in motion you cannot change these events.
A more accurate view of karma defines it in terms of belief manifestation. Nothing exists which has not first been thought. From this viewpoint, karma is the experience of your own thoughts. As Edgar Cayce said, karma is the meeting of self.
Both viewpoints see karma in terms of cause and effect. Much as some people may disagree, belief manifestation does not ignore the role of causes. It just takes them out of the exterior world and places them in the psychological world. What you do and what you experience are both the result of who you are.
From the first viewpoint, karma is rooted in the external world. It is outside your control. From the second viewpoint, karma is rooted in the inside. Thought is the determiner of what you experience. The world around you is the mirror held up to your soul so you can see who you are.
Karma is as integral to the world we live in as gravitation and genetics. Drop a stone and it will fall to the earth. Plant a tomato seed and a tomato plant will grow. Live in fear and you will experience frightening things. Live with a positive attitude and you will experience the possibility of growth. Your destiny is not fated. Each day you create your karma by being who you are. To change your karma, to create a new destiny, look inside yourself, and look around at the mirror we call the world. Change your beliefs about yourself. Change your beliefs about the world. You’ll change your karma.

How come we usually say definitive things when it comes to negative stuff and open things when it comes to positive?
“Live in fear and you will experience frightening things. Live with a positive attitude and you will experience the possibility of growth.”

That’s a good question, Nneka. I never thought about it and I don’t know the answer. Do you do the same thing?

@Nneka
I think it’s because no one would dare to talk much on the negative aspects of life. Although it’s part of reality that we have to inevitably deal with but it’s not healthy to discuss more to it. Do you think you love to live with negative environment? I don’t think so. Every one of us is dreaming to live a positive and healthy life.
