Using Notescript (Lesson 8)
September 29th, 2006 by Richard CockrumMore Rules of Letter Elimination
The remainder of the letter elimination rules in notescript are relatively specialized. As always, if you are unsure about remembering a word, retain any letter that makes the word easier to remember.
Rule 5
Retain the final vowel before s.

Rule 6
Replace ies and ious with .s (with the dot above the s) .

The next four rules concern vowel diphthongs.
Rule 7
Initial ea and oa, and final ea pronounced ee, leave out the a.

Rule 8
Leave out one e in initial and final ee, and in finale oe and ue when they are pronounced oh and oo.

Rule 9
Leave out the final silent ue.

Rule 10
Leave out u after q.
