Silence Sought

September 9th, 2006 by Richard Cockrum

An invisible wall
Of invisible stones
This is the castle
That you call home.
Silenced now the crowd’s loud drone,
All alone upon a throne
You sit as in an empty tomb

A quiet corner was all you wished.
You built it up, brick by brick.
High above the madding masses,
Escaped from the madness,
Cut off from the gladness,
Left with the sadness.

Thank you, Yvonne. Fortunately, I don’t feel that way now, but a lot of people do.
